Drinkmate water bottles recalled for explosion risk, says Health Canada

A popular water bottle is being recalled in Canada and the United States after several of them exploded.

According to a joint statement from Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Agency, the recall covers Drinkmate 1L carbonation bottles.

The bottles were sold individually or as part of “omnifizz” starter kits.

Five-thousand of the recalled bottles were sold in Canada. There has been one report of a minor injury from an exploding Drinkmate bottle in Canada, and another eight injuries in the U.S.
