Downtown condo development

It looks like there’s going to be another attempt to turn Hamilton’s Royal Connaught Hotel into a condo development.

Hamilton’s economic development director, Tim McCabe, says owners Ted Valeri and Rudi Spallacci are in pre-consultation meetings with city staff about renovating the site.

McCabe says all of the proper zoning is already in place. The ownership group that bought the building in 2005 went into bankruptcy in 2010.
