Solo homers hit by Will Smith and Max Muncy in the seventh inning helped the Los Angeles Dodgers secure a 5-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 2 of the World Series.

Toronto starter Kevin Gausman set down 17 straight batters before Smith broke through with a full-count homer to put the Dodgers ahead. Two batters later, Muncy added another.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched a complete game for the Dodgers, giving up just one run on four hits while striking out eight.

The best-of-seven series is tied at one game apiece. Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers opened the scoring again, as Freddie Freeman’s two-out double in the first set up a run on a single by Smith.

Alejandro Kirk brought home George Springer with a sacrifice fly in the third, before Yamamoto set down the next 19 batters in a row.

The defending champion Dodgers added two more runs in the eighth inning, silencing the sellout crowd of 44,607.
