Doctor practicing in Oakville charged for sexual assault

Halton regional police have arrested a doctor practicing out of an Oakville clinic and charged him Tuesday with sexual assault.

Officers say they received a report from a woman that she was assaulted by a doctor working at “Bristol Family Physicians” found on Bristol Circle during a visit to the clinic.

Investigators arrested 64-year-old Dr. Clarence Clottey Tuesday and charged them with one count of sexual assault.

Clottey was released after attending an a court appearance at a Milton courthouse.

Detectives say they believe there may be additional victims and ask anyone with information to contact police.

This arrest follows after Clottey was acquitted of a similar charge in 2018 over an alleged incident happening in 2014.

Halton police had arrested the doctor multiple times in the past, for additional allegations of assault in 2012 and in 2013.

None of the allegations against Clottey have been proven in court.

According to the doctor’s Linked In profile, Clottey has been practising medicine at the walk-in clinic since 2010.
