The crown closed its case at the Tim Bosma murder trial this morning. Tony Leitch told the jury that they’ve heard all the evidence against the two accused, Dellen Millard and Mark Smich, since the trial began February 1st.

Then it was Millard’s turn and his lawyer, Ravin Pillay told the jury he would not be calling any evidence. Millard will not take the stand. His case is closed but his lawyer will make a final appeal to the jury in closing arguments.

Mark Smich’s lawyer, Thomas Dungey, next said that he would call evidence. That means Mark Smich could testify in his own defence; it could also mean his lawyer will simply call other witnesses. The jury was excused until Wednesday morning, when Smich could start telling his side of the story.

Friday, May 6 marked exactly three years since 32 year old Ancaster dad Tim Bosma went missing after posting his truck for sale online. Prosecutors say he was shot to death shortly after he was taken from his home and burned beyond recognition in a livestock incinerator that same night.
