Dellen Millard to be sentenced in father’s death next month

Dellen Millard will be sentenced next month in his third first-degree conviction.

Earlier this year, Millard was found guilty of murdering his father Wayne Millard.

The 71-year-old businessman was found dead in his bed in 2012.

His death was initially ruled a suicide but police charged Millard in 2014.

The 33-year-old is already serving 50 years in prison without parole for two previous murders – Laura Babcock and Hamilton man Tim Bosma.

At a sentencing hearing Friday, the Crown argued Millard should received another 25 years of parole ineligibility.

If the judge agrees, Millard would not be eligible for parole for 75 years.

The judge will deliver her sentence on Dec. 18.
