Deal prevents U of Guelph strike

A strike by hundreds of support workers has been averted at the University of Guelph.

The university says a tentative deal’s been reached with the United Steelworkers union, which represents about 900 administrative and technical staff.

No details have been released, but a key issue had been funding for pension plans.
Talks between the two sides had been going on since the spring.
