DC Comics delays new Batman in wake of Colorado shootings
DC Comics is asking retailers to postpone sales of a new Batman comic book, after Friday’s shooting at a screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Colorado.
The comic book publisher has sent an e-mail to stores, saying content in the new “Batman Inc.” No. 3 may be perceived as insensitive in light of recent events.
The e-mail didn’t say what that content is, but illustrator Chris Burnham said on Twitter that there was “some grim imagery that would (seem) wholly inappropriate given the Aurora killings” and that there was a specific scene that made “the whole Bat-team say ‘Yikes.’ Too close for comfort.”
DC is asking stores to delay selling the issue until August 22nd.
