Traffic is not usually a good thing but today’s blockage at the closed Hamilton bound York Boulevard off ramp was for a good cause.
Thousands turned out for A Day on the Bridge this afternoon.
York Boulevard from Dundurn Street in Hamilton to Plains Road in Burlington was shut down for the fundraising event on the McQuesten high level bridge.
Hundreds of volunteers spent the morning setting up for the day-long event which included live music, yoga, food vendors and acrobats for pedestrians to enjoy.
The event is meant to raise money and awareness for the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System. So far $400,000 was raised before the start of the gala dinner.
York Boulevard will be re-open on Monday at 3 a.m.
