Daffodils for cancer
More than 100,000 daffodils have been planted in support of the Canadian Cancer Society in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Sheila Hirsch-Kalm was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in 2003.
As a way to give back to the Canadian Cancer Society for the help they provided, she began planting daffodils in 2005.
She started with one garden which has since grown to nine.
She says planting the flowers and planning the event helps her cope with her illness.
Her gardens of hope have won international recognition and raised thousands of dollars in support of cancer research.
