Cuban national arrested for running over Fort Erie Railway Bridge into Canada

Ontario RCMP say they arrested a Cuban national that tried to enter Canada by running over the Fort Erie International Railway Bridge in mid-March.
Niagara-on-the-Lake RCMP border officers and Ontario Provincial Police say they were able to locate the person and arrested them under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
They was transported to the Peace Bridge port of entry in Fort Erie.
After they was assessed, officers found the person ineligible for entry into Canada and was returned to the United States later that day.
Michael Prosia, the regional director general of the Southern Ontario Region of the Canada Border Services Agency said, “The CBSA and RCMP work in close partnership to maintain the security of our borders. This is yet another example of how our collaboration contributes to protecting the integrity of our border and the safety of our communities.”
