The disappearance of a Niagara Falls man has his family and friends baffled. Alex Fraser’s car was found abandoned and engulfed in flames a week ago, and he hasn’t been seen since. Now the case in the hands of the Niagara police major crimes unit.
This is the man Niagara police are searching for. He’s 49-year old Alexander Fraser. About 2am on Boxing Day, firefighters found Fraser’s Nissan Maxima fully engulfed in flames parked in a grassy area along the Niagara Parkway near Townline Road in Fort Erie. The only things left are charred grass and car parts.
Alexander Fraser was nowhere to be found.
Police did an extensive ground search and they scoured the shoreline of the Niagara river.
Staff Sgt. Dave Hunter, Niagara Police Major Crimes Unit: “From the Niagara Parks marine towards Niagara Falls and we’ve done searches with divers as well, To date, we’ve found nothing to indicate what has happened to Mr. Fraser.”
Fraser is a loner. He has few friends. Because of the burned out car and no trace of him since, his disappearance is being investigated as suspicious.
Police are now asking residents in the area to search their properties, their garages, sheds and wooded areas for anything suspicious or maybe a clue to what happened to Alexander Fraser.
Staff Sgt. Hunter: “We have not been able to locate Mister Fraser through his friends, associates and family members.”
Alex Fraser has lived in a number of places around Niagara Falls, most recently in the south end of the city. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Fraser, they’re asked to call the Niagara Police major crime unit.
