Crash on Highway 58 in Welland sends 4 to hospital: OPP
The Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a serious crash on Highway 58 in Welland sent four people to hospital Saturday morning.
Niagara OPP say that around 9:40 a.m., the driver of a Ford S.U.V. was driving northbound on the highway between Forks Road and Kleiner Street.
That’s where it crossed over the centre line, colliding with a Volkswagen Sedan head on before it ended up in the ditch.
Police say the driver of the Ford was airlifted with serious injuries to Hamilton General Hospital before being rushed to a trauma centre in Toronto.
The three occupants of the Volkswagen were also taken to hospital to be treated for what officers describe as minor injuries.
At this time, police could not confirm the condition of those involved, other than the initial severity of their injuries.
