Crash in Burlington closes Toronto-bound on-ramp to 403 and 407
A crash involving a fuel truck in Burlington has closed down part of a major highway artery that connects commuters with the 403 and 407.
As of 12:45 p.m., the highway remains closed while crews work to remove the vehicles involved and clean up a large diesel spill that coated the road.
No one was injured during the collision.
Provincial police say the initial crash occurred between a pickup truck and commercial sometime around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
“As a result of this two-car crash, the pickup truck lost control, ended up going into the side of the fuel saddle-tank, rupturing fuel and it spilt all over the highway,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said in an update.
He adds that they’re hoping that cleanup is finished and the ramp is reopened sometime before 2 p.m.
