COVID-19 outbreak declared at the Barton Street jail in Hamilton
A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at the Hamilton-Wentworth Detention Centre.
The City of Hamilton declared an outbreak at the facility on Monday.
It is reporting seven cases of the virus, with five staff members and two inmates testing positive.

This is one of two new outbreaks declared by public health on Monday. The other is at the Good Shepherd Men’s Centre on Mary St. There is one confirmed case there.
