Court date for suspected spy

A 53-year old Waterdown man accused of trying to sell classified information to China has had his bail hearing put over again, to next week.

Qing Quentin Huang is facing two charges under the Security of Information Act, for allegedly trying to sell classified information on Canada’s shipbuilding strategy to the Chinese government. The naval engineer, could face life in prison if convicted. His re-scheduled bail hearing will take place next Monday.

Huang’s lawyer is John Rosen, who has defended some of Canada’s most notorious murderers including Paul Bernardo and Dominic Musitano. Rosen did not comment on Monday’s hearing.
