For the second time this month, Costco has issued a yogurt product recall in Canada which may contain yeast that can cause illness.
The wholesale supermarket posted the recall notice on Monday, warning customers that purchased a 24-pack of 100 grams Kirkland Signature Probiotic Yogurt between Sept. 3 to 19 to check the labels before eating them.
Danone Canada who makes the yogurt says if the product’s best before dates are for October 18, 20, or 22 to throw them out or to return them to Costco.
The yogurt producer says they may contain a type of yeast that could make people with a compromised immune system sick.
The recall statement reads that food safety risk is low as the yeast is not known to grow in refrigerated temperatures.
Costco says that they will offer full refunds for the recalled yogurt.
