Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has been chosen as The Canadian Press Newsmaker of the Year.
It’s the second time in a row news editors across Canada placed Poilievre at the top.
Polievre, who has been leader of the Official Opposition since 2022, has been front-and-center in the news in 2024 and consistently ahead of his opponents in the national polls.
The majority of pollsters and political analysts believe that Poilievre has cemented his position as the country’s prime minister-in-waiting.
