Confirmed COVID-19 cases at Mohawk’s IAHS campus

Two students associated with Mohawk College’s Institute for Applied Health Sciences Campus (McMaster University) have tested positive for COVID-19.
In a letter to faculty and students on Saturday, the college said that both students last attended the campus on November 2nd for classes. They say that neither student were experiences symptoms of the virus, they were wearing masks, and followed the health and safety protocols while on campus.
Hamilton Public Health does not believe the two cases are connected. Additionally, they say that there are no college-related close contacts and therefore no risk to the college community. The areas where the students attended are being deep cleaned.
Others who have been in close contact with the affected students have been contacted and asked to self-monitor for the next 14 days.
