Concerns about 3~D printers

Our federal public safety department is worried about 3-D printers that can manufacture guns without any kind of control.  In May, the U.S. government made headlines when it ordered a Texas-based website to remove blueprints for using a 3-D printer to make a handgun.  The Canadian government is commissioning a study that will look at the advent of 3-D technology and the feasibility of crafting firearms, parts and ammunition.  A final report on the study is expected by next February.  In Canada, a licence is required to own a firearm, a registration certificate is needed for a handgun,  and a firearms business licence is needed to manufacture a gun.
