Community raises funds to replace stolen baseball bleachers

Community members have come together to raise money to replace bleachers that were stolen last month from Little League Park on Jerseyville Rd.
Last month the aluminum bleachers worth around $14,000 were stolen from the baseball diamond and were found damaged beyond repair at a local scrap yard. With a big tournament coming up and nightly games, the community rallied together raising over $15,000 on GoFundMe to replace the seats. They say community members continue to donate.

A company called Bleacher Guys out of Cambridge replaced the bleachers. They originally said the ballpark could pay when they were able, but now they have raised enough to cover the bill.
Even though they have enough money for the bleachers, the community continues fundraising for the ball diamond. A local pub, the Coach and Lantern is also raising money for the little league. Proceeds will go towards repairs around the park like a fence, the dugout, and the scoreboard.
