Community honors the life of a young Indigenous woman who died in St. Catharines hospital and are calling for an investigation

Indigenous groups and members of the community came together to honour the life of a young indigenous woman who died at a St. Catharines hospital last year.
The family says the system failed her, and calls are growing for an investigation into her death.
According to her family Winterstein went to the emergency room with severe back pain on December 9th.
Her mother says the staff gave her Tylenol and told her to go home.
She returned the next day when the pain intensified, but her family says she was left in the waiting room, until she collapsed.
She died that night from group strep a flesh eating disease.
Her family claims she died due to negligence on the part of staff and it could have been prevented if she received treatment.
