Collision reporting centre opens

Niagara region’s first collision reporting centre officially opened for business at the Niagara Police Welland detachment this afternoon.
The reporting centre will serve drivers who’ve had collisions in Welland and Pelham who’ve been involved in minor fender-bender type collisions, free up officers for more serious calls, and take damaged cars off the road faster.
An officer will respond to the scene if someone has been injured, or if the crash involves pedestrians, cyclists or school buses.
The centre is open 10 to 6 Mondays to Fridays, and 10 to 4 on Saturdays. It is closed Sundays and holidays.
