Fatal collision closes QEW in both directions near Welland Canal
The OPP have closed the QEW in both directions near the Welland Canal due to a serious collision early this afternoon that resulted in a fatality.
The QEW Fort Erie bound is closed between Niagara Street and Welland Avenue and Toronto-bound traffic is closed past the Glendale Avenue exit.

Police are asking motorists to plan alternate routes and avoid the area. The highway is expected to be closed for the duration of the afternoon.
