City of Hamilton resumes preauthorized payments for property taxes April 15

After thousands of payment plans for taxpayers across the region were paused, the City of Hamilton’s preauthorized property payments will resume on April 15.
Nearly 68,000 people have had their payments paused since February due to the cyberattack.
Later this month, those payments are set to resume for most taxpayers on those plans.
The city said in its latest update that the decision to resume payments was made after careful consideration and to ensure minimal financial impacts to affected property owners.
Notice letters will be issued to anyone enrolled in the pre-authorized payment in the coming days.
The city says that the dates on which withdrawals are made have been revised, but payments have not. For a full list of revised withdrawals, click here.
