Chuck is a biographical sports drama directed by Philippe Falardeau and starring Liev Schreiber, Elisabeth Moss, Ron Perlman, Naomi Watts, Jim Gaffigan, Michael Rapaport, Pooch Hall, Morgan Spector and Jason Jones.

CHUCK is the true-life story of Chuck Wepner, a liquor salesman from New Jersey, who went 15 rounds in the stunning 1975 heavyweight world championship against the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammad Ali, and ultimately inspired the billion-dollar Rocky franchise. In his ten years as a boxer, Wepner endured eight broken noses, 14 losses, two knockouts, and a total of 313 stitches. But his toughest fights were outside the ring: living an epic life of booze, drugs, wild women, exemplifying incredible highs and extraordinary lows.

Leading man Schreiber says that his passion for boxing helped him prepare for the role. “I’ve been into boxing for about 15 years, and I love it. A lot of the preparation consisted of watching and re-watching Chuck’s fights, and additionally meeting him, getting to know him a little bit, and getting to know Linda. Just studying and absorbing the people and the time period… working with the production design, just immersing myself.”

Moss, who plays Wepner’s first wife, Phyllis, says, “Liev Schreiber is honestly one of the most detail-oriented actors I’ve ever met. He cares so much.”

Chuck is rated 14A.
