Chrysler truck recall
Chrysler is recalling 34,780 Ram pickup trucks in Canada because of a problem in the steering system.
The automaker is also recalling more than 242,000 Ram pickup trucks in the U.S.
The problem relates to a part near the left wheel which can fracture and cause a loss of steering control.
Chrysler says the incident can happen most often at low speeds.
The recall affects certain Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickups from the 2008-2011 model years.
The problem also can affect 2003 to 2008 Ram 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty models in which the same part was replaced by mechanics.
The Ram truck is Chrysler’s best-selling vehicle.
