Locke Street is getting into the holiday spirit, with a tree lighting ceremony Friday to kick off the season.

Earlier this week, Hamilton Firefighters helped get the tree into location.

The tree lighting ceremony begins at 7 p.m. in Santa’s Village, beside West Town Bar & Grill.

Some stores on Locke St. will stay open with extended hours.

The tree lighting kicks off this year’s Christmas on Locke event, which includes carolers, a petting zoo and face painting on Saturday.

On Dec. 8, Hamilton Public Library’s Locke St. branch will host a Christmas story time at 10:30 a.m.
