The mother of 3-year-old Kaden Young, who was swept away by the Grand River two months ago says the search for her son is over. A little boy’s body was discovered yesterday in the river near Belwood by a fisherman. The OPP are reluctant to confirm that it was Kaden’s body that was found.

In a Facebook post this morning, Kaden Young’s mother Michelle Hanson expressed her gratitude for the hundreds of volunteers that have shown up week after week to search for her son, and wrote ” It has been a long, extremely draining two months of searching and now, has finally come to an end” adding that funeral arrangements are being finalized.
OPP say that because of the misidentification of two Humboldt Broncos victims, they are erring on the side of caution and will not be confirming that it was the boy’s body that was found until the autopsy is complete. The OPP did say that they were not out looking for Kaden’s body today, as they have been for the past two months.

Many people were dropping by the Belwood bridge, where a boy’s body was found yesterday to pay their respects. Volunteers who have been helping in this search say this tragedy will live in their hearts forever.

It has been two months since Kaden was ripped from his mothers arms. The Grand River flooded a road in Waldemar, 20 km west of Orangeville and Kaden’s mothers van was swept up in the river. The OPP say the coroner’s investigation should be complete by Monday, only then will they confirm if it was indeed Kaden’s body that was found.
