Chief Coroner to review deaths at Ornge

Ontario’s Chief Coroner has announced a review into a number of patient deaths at Ornge.

The review will examine a number of deaths over the past six years to see whether transport aboard the air ambulances played a role.

The corner has already done an earlier review of deaths; but since Ornge has become the focus of opposition attention in the legislature, several new cases have come to light.

Ornge says it’s hired more pilots and paramedics to improve response time, and will fully co-operate with the review.

And Premier Dalton McGuinty says the government will also co-operate.
