Chedoke stairs to remain closed until Friday for upgrades

The Chedoke Stairs in Hamilton will be closed this week until Friday as city crews install new lighting fixtures to illuminate the pathway.
All week there will be no access from the top and bottom of the stairs as the new fixtures are added along the stairway.
The Chedoke Stairs will be closed starting Monday, August 21 until August 25 to facilitate lighting repairs. The stairs will remain closed during this duration, without access from the top, bottom or from the Bruce Trail. pic.twitter.com/nkVl5cIFbG

Access will additionally be blocked off from the Bruce Trail.

Anyone looking for a set of steps up or down the Hamilton Mountain this week is reminded that the top portion of the Wentworth St. Stairs remains closed until October as the city works to complete park upgrades in the area.
The Chedoke steps are set to fully reopen Friday once the upgrades have been completed.
