Charges upgraded against Hamilton duo in shooting of 22-year-old man

Hamilton police have upgraded charges against two men in connection with a shooting in Dundas last month.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Nov. 25, police received several 911 calls reporting a shooting on York Rd. near Highway 6 in Dundas.

Officers arrived on scene and found a 22-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
Rebaz Resh, 31, and Youcef Guendouz, 32, were arrested near the scene and charged with firearms-related offences. At the time, the men were not charged with the shooting.
On Friday, Hamilton police revealed charges against the pair had been upgraded.
Resh is now facing eight charges including attempt to cause death with a firearm, aggravated assault causing a wound, and discharge firearm with intent to wound.
Guendouz is charged with aggravated assault causing a wound, assault with a weapon, occupant of a vehicle with a weapon, and discharge firearm with intent to wound.
Police believe this was a targeted incident and say the men were known to each other.
Investigators are not seeking any further suspects.
