Charges against a man who was accused of killing 21-year old Anthony Smith have been stayed. That means they will be off the books in a year.

Smith, who’s known for appearing in a photo with Toronto Mayor Rob Ford was shot outside a Toronto night club last year. Hanad Mohamed was originally charged with first-degree murder but had those charges downgraded. Charges are stayed when there is no reasonable prospect of conviction, but the crown can reactivate them at any time.
