Certain brands of eggs recalled due to salmonella threat

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has issued a recall of certain brands of eggs in Ontario, BC and Manitoba due to a salmonella threat.
The microbial contamination recall covers eggs from Burnbrae Farms under the brands of: Compliments, Foremost, Golden Valley Eggs, IGA, No Name and Western Family, with expiry dates of Feb. 16, Feb. 22 and March 1.
According to the government other possible provinces and territories may also be affected.
The recall says not to consume, use, serve or distribute the products and consumers are advised to throw the eggs away or contact the retailer that sold them.
Salmonella can cause fever, headache, nausea and diarrhea. The harmful bacteria can pose a threat to young children, seniors and pregnant women.
