Cell phone video of a fight between security guards and some teens at Jackson Square in Hamilton has gone viral. And police are looking for the people involved.
The video, shot on Monday, has been viewed more than 60 thousand times. Police say security officers from Intelligarde had dealt with a group of men who had become beligerent with security and were asked to leave the property.
According to police the men came back a short time later and were seen riding their bikes through the mall. Security asked them to leave again and that’s when officials say the altercation began.
This video was posted on YouTube. A statement along with the video says it was the security guards who started the brawl by shoving them for no reason and later mouthing the words “I’m going to kill you.”
Police are using the video to help identify the three men seen on the video and one who shot the altercation with a cell phone. They are between 15 and nineteen years of age and may not even be from Hamilton.
Sgt. Jay Turner, Hamilton Police: “It’s a serious event and we are now looking at the video now trying to identify the parties in the video and hoping to make arrests if that’s warranted. The security guards would not be investigated, they were within their lawful rights as working for the property to remove people from the property who are disorderly or trespassing.”
Police say two security officers were taken to hospital after the incident.
The men fled before police arrived. The area was checked but they were not located.
