Prime Minister Mark Carney begins a nine-day trip to help drum up investment and re-shift Canada’s economy.

Carney heads to Beijing to meet with senior leaders including President Xi Jinping, marking the first official trip by a prime minister in more than eight years.

Given tensions over geopolitical security matters and current tariffs on items like EV’s and canola.

The two leaders are expected to to sign various joint agreements while trying to maintain trade relationships with the U.S.
