Cardinal over Bishop in football

The Hamilton Catholic high school football final was played Friday afternoon. It was Cardinal Newman, 5-1 in the regular season and Bishop Tonnos, 0-5 in the regular season, but giant killers in the playoffs and they open the scoring. Matt Michalski swings a pass to Cameron Wright, and that was the “right” thing to do, Wright with a 43-yard TD. The convert was blocked.
Back comes Cardinal Newman in the second quarter, Matt Metcalfe hooks up with Clark Adams, and Adams runs away from the pack for a 74-yard TD. And in the third quarter, Metcalfe hits Marcus Diloreto on a slant pattern, and Diloreto scores a 15 yard TD. Cardinal Newman goes on to win its third consecutive league championship, and advances to play Burlington Assumption in the Golden Horseshoe final.
