Just like Kate Middleton and Michelle Obama before her, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau has become a fashion icon and she’s put Canadian fashion in the spotlight during her trip to Washington this week.

Brittany Gogo spoke to two of her designers, who are thrilled with the support.

From the moment she touched down in Washington, Sophie Gregoire Trudeau showcased her all Canadian wardrobe, wearing a pant suit from a Montreal based designer.

And Canadian style was in the spotlight again when she and the Prime Minister joined U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House.

She stood out wearing a vibrant red and pink dress by Toronto based designer Lucian Matis and pink pumps by Elle Ayoubzadeh for her brand Zvelle.

Many eyes were on the Trudeau family, putting Canadian designers on the map.

In her most high profile public appearance since Justin Trudeau became Prime Minister, the White House State Dinner, she chose another gown by Lucian Matis and customed heels by Zvelle.

The shoes are on a wait list right now and are available for pre-order on their website for $375.
