A Canadian solider stationed at CFB Petawawa died last night, in what is being called a work-related incident.

27-year old craftsman Kyle Sinclair, was working his normal duties when it happened shortly before midnight Friday.

The Canadian Forces would not reveal the nature of the incident but say it was not a training accident.

His death is being investigated.

There are reports Sinclair joined the military in 2012 and has been based in Petawawa since 2013 as a member of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper has issued a statement.

“The incident is another painful reminder of the sacrifice that our brave men and women in uniform face daily in the defence of our nation’s freedoms and liberties, both at home and abroad. We will always remember and honour craftsman Sinclair’s service to Canada.”
