Unidentified Canadian soldier dies in non-combat related incident


A Canadian soldier, whose name has not been released, has died in a non-combat related incident.
The soldier was found dead early Saturday at a forward operating base located in Kandahar city.
The family has been notified and have asked the name of the dead soldier be temporary withheld.
News of the death came late Saturday night, Kandahar time, in a short statement by the Canadian headquarters at Kandahar Airfield.
The death is under investigation and no one will speculate on the cause.
The statement said enemy action has been ruled out.
