VIDEO: A special tribute was heard loud and clear across Eastern Canada on Friday.

Ships docked at ports in Hamilton, Oshawa, Halifax, Montreal and Toronto, honked their horns to honour the staff who move supplies, including items needed by those combating the COVID-19 outbreak, from one side of the world to another.

Seafarers are often confined to small spaces but play a massive role in getting supplies to the people who need them.

Their work keeps countries supplied with food, fuel, and important supplies like vital medical equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
