Canadian Kim Boutin wins bronze in short-track speed skating

Canadian Kim Boutin won a bronze medal in the women’s 500 metres short-track speed skating at the Beijing Winter Olympics on Monday.

Boutin finished at a time of 42.724 seconds and is the world record holder in the event.

This is Boutin’s fourth career Olympic medal.

Arianna Fontana of Italy won gold in a time of 42.488, while Suzanne Schulting of the Netherlands won silver in 42.559.

The 27-year-old Sherbrooke, Quebec resident previously won silver and two bronze at the 2018 games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
