Canadian banks sign on to Apple Pay

A couple of Canada’s big banks have signed on to Apple Pay. The Royal Bank and CIBC say starting today their clients can load their debit and major credit cards onto iPhones and Apple watches to make in-store purchases.

Canada’s other three big banks are expected to do the same in the coming months. This is a big breakthrough for Apple Pay, which launched on a small scale in Canada with American Express last year.
