OPP investigate attempted car jacking on Highway 403 in Hamilton

Burlington OPP are investigating an attempted car jacking on Highway 403 in Hamilton in mid-September.
The incident took place on a westbound lane near Alberton Road around 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 15.
The victim of the carjacking pulled over when they saw a vehicle behind them with flashing, bright lights and believed it to be the police.
A male suspect then approached the victim’s vehicle with what was believed to be a chisel in his hand and yelled at the victim to exit the vehicle. The suspect was unsuccessful in starting the vehicle and left the scene.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned male wearing a blue surgical face mask and a baseball hat.
The victim was unable to provide an accurate description of the suspect vehicle.
