The Burlington Canal Lift Bridge will close to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians in the near future due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Hamilton Oshawa Port Authority (HOPA) says the bridge, which is located on Eastport Dr., will soon be closed and left in the raised position.
HOPA says it is awaiting confirmation from Public Works & Procurement Canada regarding when the closure will begin.
A formal media release from Public Works is expected to be issued Tuesday.
Staffing issues due to the pandemic are cited as the reason for the temporary closure.
