Burlington fire causes over $600K in damages to home

A fire at a Burlington home Sunday afternoon injured one firefighter and has caused an estimated $600,000 in damages.

Emergency crews responded to reports at around 3:30 p.m. of smoke coming from a home on Mystic Court.

Police say no residents were hurt during the fire, however, a firefighter was injured while they were battling the blaze.

Officials say the fire started in the basement and might have been caused by mechanical failure.

Ontario’s Office of the Fire Marshal was contacted because the damage to the property was over $500,000.
