Burlington Ward 2 Coun. Lisa Kearns is throwing her hat into the ring to become the city’s next mayor.

She made the announcement outside Burlington City Hall Tuesday, where she says she would stand with the entire population.

“Leadership should look like this,” said Kearns. “Listening to every voice from every corner of the city, every neighbourhood, every business, every community.”

“I’ve run out of confidence in the current state of our city and I know, like you all do, that it’s ready for change,” said Kearns.

The councillor has been in office since 2018.

Ontario’s municipal elections will be held Oct. 26.
