Brother: victim died doing what he loved
We’re learning more about the VIA Rail crash and those aboard – specifically those who lost their lives in this fatal tragedy.
Three men – all VIA employees – died in the crash. One of the men who died was Patrick Robinson from Cornwall.
Sharon McCulloch spoke with his brother Ken late this afternoon and he said his brother died doing what he loved.
At this point nine passengers are still in hospital, three in critical condition at Hamilton General.
Dozens of others were treated at Joseph Brant and St Joseph’s Hospitals. One of the youngest victims, a ten year old girl, suffered a broken arm. She was discharged from Joe Brant this afternoon. Twenty patients were treated at the Burlington hospital.
Halton Regional Police are appealing to any outstanding passengers onboard the VIA Rail train yesterday who may have left the scene to contact them. Investigators say they have the passenger manifest and would like to ensure the condition and current location of those passengers. They say the current whereabouts of approximately one dozen passengers is unknown.
