Brantford police arrest three, seize large quantity of illegal drugs

Brantford police have arrested three people and seized a large quantity of illegal substances following a drug trafficking investigation.

On Feb. 23 at approximately 9 p.m., officers arrested three people in the area of Market and Sheridan streets. Along with the arrests, the following items were seized:

  • 462.6 grams of fentanyl
  • 677 hydromorphone (Dilaudid) pills
  • 175.5 grams of methamphetamine
  • 36.8 grams of cocaine
  • Digital scales and drug paraphernalia
  • Stun gun
  • Butterfly knife
  • Loaded handgun
  • A large quantity of Canadian Currency
  • Suspect vehicle

Authorities say the combined street value of the illegal drugs is estimated at $113,700.

Later the same day around 11:15 p.m., search warrants were executed at two residences in Brantford.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Brantford man was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking; Fentanyl
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking: Hydromorphone
  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose (two counts)
  • Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Careless Storage of Firearm
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Firearm

A 33-year-old Hamilton man was also arrested and stands charged with the following:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
  • Breach of Probation
  • Possession of Proceeds of Crime

A 34-year-old woman from Hamilton was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl.
