Brantford police arrest man following fatal stabbing

Brantford police have arrested a 27-year-old man following a fatal stabbing early Saturday morning.
At approximately 2:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of a man who had been stabbed in the area of Colborne and Clarence streets.
Officers arrived on scene where paramedics were providing assistance to the wounded man.
The man was transported to hospital but subsequently succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators say the male suspect fled on foot after the stabbing but was located and arrested nearby around 10:30 a.m.
The 27-year-old Brantford man was arrested and stands charged with second degree murder and two counts of failure to comply with probation.
